I was just going through old files on my backup hard drive and found this image I made a few years ago. I usually don’t get emotional over celebrity deaths but Bowie was an exception for me. I’m thankful for all the inspiration he brought to this world.
Going through my old artwork. This was from 2011. I remember I liked this shirt so much that I had two of them.
Well, I’ve been a little (a lot) busy lately! Mostly because I’ve been working on launching a new web shop with two of my friends from art school. We’ve been working on Beech Hall for almost a year and are finally ready to share what we’ve made!
Our first collection was inspired by Ancient Egypt and is comprised of home goods, ceramics, and jewelry. I had so much fun making textiles and ceramics for this collection and even have some of my illustrations on jewelry, which is so cool to see! All of my ceramic pieces are one of a kind and won’t be made again.
I have some new prints up at Buddy Editions! I was inspired by the warm weather, tropical colors, and care-free living. Hope you enjoy!
Elephants Having a Blast
I’ve been going through my old sketchbooks and photographing my favorite spreads. Makes me think that I should start dating things…. all the years of work are starting to blend together!
Though I’m most comfortable with working two dimensionally, I started to have a lot of sculptural ideas so I decided to devote some time to ceramics. The hardest part for me is how long the process takes from start to finish. A painting can be done in a few hours but most of my ceramic pieces take a few weeks to see fully glazed and completed. I’ve already broken a handful of pieces and have shed a tear here and there. But the agony pays off when something comes out of the kiln exactly how I was imaging it to look.
